Freeview box

I have just moved into my new flat at uni and have run cable through so my freeview box will work in my room. Now SSN (the last channel I had it on) works fine. However, every other one has "bad signal". Would an arial booster help this? The singal is pretty weak as the cable runs a long way and is doubled off a few times
