Lived in Munich for a year, went 14 days in a row. Would have gone every day If I could, was absolutely destroyed by the end.
Avoid the Hofbrautent, it's full of Australian/Americans acting like c**ts. Augustiner or Lowenbrau was my favourite. Also worth checking out the outside weisbier gardens, they take the edge off things.
Think you'll be lucky to get any accommodation even now, check out Jaegers near to Haupbahnhof.
