The Orient Cup game............ some big decisions by Lambert.
Obviously this game gives us a great opportunity to go through to the next round.......
But...... we then have a huge game against Cardiff the following Saturday........
A win might kill them off a bit.
Cardiff have a much physically tougher cup game away to Stoke who will probably be looking to win by putting out a full strength squad.
There are a number of senarios which wouldn't be good.
If we put out a full strength side we risk injury/sending offs/suspensions.
If we don't..... we risk a replay which would probably be nearly as bad as losing........ especially if its just a few days later. (not sure when replays would be?)
This is a great opportunity to rest some players for two weeks who have small niggling injuries.
I think its pretty much a given that Lansbury wont play even if he is fit.
I guess it depends on what the injury status is of various players.
Would you bring back Whitbread and Askou to play?
Would you give Rudd a game? Seems like a great situation to give him some game time in front of a decent crowd.
We might need him later in the season at various times.
OTJ might get another run out.
What about giving Oli a start?
I have mixed feelings on this.
A cup run would be good for our finances but in the big picture its not that important.
No idea what Lambert will do but I think this would be agreat oppotunity to involve some of the fringe players like...Rudd,Gill, OTJ, McNamee, Oli, Daley and maybe even Josh Dawkin/Matt Ball
