I think you miss the point.

The question is do we want 8 teams bunched at the top or few teams going away from the pack.

I suggest the latter is better at this time of the year. (transfer window)

Some chairman will be thinking of consolidation rather than "going for it"

With QPR and Cardiff further away they will be thinking their chances of promotion are less.

As I said IMHO these are decent results IF we can win our games. (or at least get 4 points from the next 2 games)
