Watched the Spurs game today. PLus other random thoughts
(1) The Ref was piss poor
(2) The second goal by spurs gave me some major tentage. It was a thing of counter attacking beauty.
Harry switching Bale just before that was a masterstroke as he was getting little joy.
(3) Villa are in trouble if they dont bring in some players quickly.
Another club who aplauded RL selling all their best players and forcing out the manager.
Now they wonder why they are down the bottom instead of 4th like last year.
(4) This relates to Norwich. Why Villa struggled against 10 men was because they dont really have ball playing CBs. You have to push out to make the advantage tell.
Its interesting that Lambert had a little dig at Ward for playing a bit too much when we have done well against 10 men in recent games.
In the past we have sometimes struggled to break down teams when we have the advantage.
(5) The PL is so wide open this year, never seen anything like this for a while.
I think 5 teams can win the LG and 11 teams can get relegated!
Where as last year the 3 teams relegated were pretty weak overall (2 had money probelms and 1 didnt want to spend)
Next season all 3 clubs will probably be pretty strong.
This season might be our best chance to get to the PL.
McNally....... get ya chequebook out.
The risk/reward is worth it.
