yes, he played for the u19s at the same time as when he burst onto
the scene with us.
But, it doesn't count as far as full caps are concerned. Ryan Giggs is the prime example - he played for an England youth team, but that was because players at that level are called up dependent on where they live at the time (they are recommended by local associations). As far as full caps are concerned, Giggs was never eligible to play for England as he was born in Wales to Welsh parents (grandparents were also Welsh).
