Noooooooooooo

Too many demons from when he was batting at 3.

6 has suited him fine. Pushing him up to 5 is a good move, any higher and he may revert.

Trott had an average approaching 60 before he got out at number 3. He's fine there. And Pietersen won't bat 3, but I am sure he won't like being pushed down to 5.

Strauss,
Cook,
Trott,
KP,
Bell,
Morgan/ Collingwood as specialist fielder who can bat a bit.

Don't tinker too much for the sake of it. Otherwise you undermine players who up until this match have done well in their positions (Trott, KP- ok, for ONE test, but he did get a double) and risk putting too much pressure on Bell when he's JUST started to look the batsman worthy of his technique.
