a few random acts of threatened violence against norwich fans isnt as serious as threateni
ng to blow an airport sky high might be something to do with it. the point about the twitter trial wasnt about freedom of speech on twitter but more about how f**king intensely seriously the authorities take with regards to terrorism and airport security.
the twitter "joke" did divert resources from other areas and given the constant threat to airports i suppose the feeling was to come down hard on the poor mug who made the remark in the first place to deter people from doing it in future.
in an ideal world they should just shut down twitter.
