Where is a good area of London to stay in a hotel

when going to the O2.

For those who were going to suggest so, I do not require access to the following:

Areas where there a prostitutes - regardless of the calibre
Areas where there are drugs - regardless of the value

All I want really is a travellodge-esque hotel that wont be over the odds cost wise based on its location, but wont have a higher than London average chance of getting attacked, robbed or both.
