Non-football regarding Paul Weller at the UEA around 1990
I am sure it was around NOV/DEC as I think it was cold outside.
I think at the time he was calling himself the Paul Weller Movement.
The t-shirts had the mod target design, I Remember that much.
Anyway, what I rememmber about the gig was that it was sold as if you would hear some of the classic Jam and Style Council hits.
It wasnt sold out, around 1000 in the LCR.
After quite a number of songs that nobody knew the crowd got really arsey and started booing loudly because he wasn't playing any of the Jam/SC hits
I think he threw in one Jam number but overall the crowd were really unhappy at the end.
Tons of booing and unhappy people who were swearing a storm when they left.
Anyone else on here go to that gig?
That was a strange one?
