(yes, despite facebook's slagging...) and anyone can follow anyone (protected accounts aside).

i mostly use it to read interesting (to me) links posted by other people/proper journalists/interesting bloggers.

reading the thoughts of some sportsmen that hadn't been through the PR-wash can be interesting too, though sadly the clubs/team management etc seem to be quite keen on stopping that.
