Send in a renewal form with your old passport number and a new photo.
They compare new with old to see if its reasonable.
They create the new one, and send it to, say, your local post office, or council or whatever.
We pitch up, they check we look liek the photo we sent, answer a couple of data protection questions, and wlak out with the new one.
