Well ...

... I set up a new email address, and modified some of the old ones, but I have old email addresses in my old name that I still need to check now and again (which is a minor annoyance, but nothing more).

Work experience has been a pain too - referees have written back saying "I don't know who that is", which has held stuff up with HR, but more pressingly, I published a fair bit of writing under my old name and effectively had to start again with reputation-building. I've posted a lot of it on my blog, though, so people will know it's mine.

And yes, as you suggest, it's caused far more difficulties for me than for anyone else!
