Serious question on the subject...

....OK, so you have all the official paperwork to migrate, as you already alluded to, but did you bother changing stuff like email addresses, etc ? Meaning complete re-registration, etc at all different web sites, sometimes impossible even.

And how about work experience, proving that you are actually the same person ? Did you build up a professional reputation under your old name which is now a bit more difficult to harness ?

It seems those things are the ones which cause more trouble to (for example) women adopting their new husband's name than the actual governmental / financial side which is at least mostly prepared for name change.
