Hopefully, in the future, the age of players earning such huge salaries will seem bizarre

Surely the wages are going to have to come down for the next generation of players coming through, and there might be less sense of disconnection (as Pants rightly points out) between the spectators and the players. And the players might stop their lives for granted so much.
