So why limit the number of appeals?

And besides, the problem I think FIFA have with it is how far do you go back. The goal was fine but was he offside? Was the ball out of play on the wing 10 seconds before? What about the throw-in wrongly judged to be against you when it should have been for you that started the passage off that the goal was scored from?

All of that can be sorted out by decent TV technology and some 3-D modelling. So, they think, IMO, that they are opening up Pandora's box.

Speaking of Pandora's box, did Adrian Mole ever open that?
