The last 10 (44) years have shown that the manager is largely irrelevant. Players in this country plainly aren?t good enough on the grand stage but get away with it for their club teams.

Imagine if Lampard never had a Makelele or an Essian to do all the work for him? Imagine if England could produce a player with big Claude?s discipline..
