Having said that, look at the match stats

We had more shots on target, more possesion and more corners. What really let us down was unbelievably poor defensive awareness. Doherty and Nelson would have done better than Upson and Terry.

We could easily have had more goals if we'd had more width, but there isn't an English winger worthy of the name any more.
