Anyone have a full knowledge of ball physics?
Looking at the keeper errors so far in the cup - and there've been a lot - each keeper has got something on the ball and it's spun away in an unexpected direction. It was particularly noticeable with the Japanese keeper earlier today.
I heard before the tourney began that they'd made this ball almost completely smooth, with no exposed seams. Does that mean it'll move in an unpredictable way? A lot of players seem to have problems bringing it under control, and apart from a couple of notable exceptions it also appears that putting any power behind it makes it fly unexpectedly high. England players tried to cope with this by hitting every shot along the ground, which is rarely a good idea when shooting from distance.
I reckon the ball's ruining the tournament. FIFA have form for this: at least they aren't ruining it with the referees like they used to.
