but this is the trouble

we are customers, but customers with a strong emotional attachment - and in extending those emotional terms, no alternative to our club. But we also have to realise that we can't just expect it to be run according to our emotions. And that's the trouble. Deep down I'm sure if you asked a Portsmouth fan whether they'd rather have had a well-run club or a winning day out at Wembley they'd have gone for the moment of the latter option.

It's really back to LOJ's point - we need regulation which protects all our interests, but it does need to exist. We can't just let mismanagement rule and then say 'oh but it's a football club and we love it so it must live'.
