James Anderson - fast bowler who's got 51 wickets for Lancs this year, BUT hasn't played for England for a year. His bowling can get wayward which the Aussies would latch on to. Jimmy's not hot with the bat, and his fielding leaves a bit to be desired.

Paul Collingwood - medium fast bowler and decent batter. Superb in the field (remember that one-handed catch in the one-dayers?) IN the one dayers - and these last few tests have had the mentality of one-day cricket...Collingwood managed to tie the Aussie batsmen down with his bowling.

Simple choice to make in the end...in view of our sometimes fragility with the bat!
