I first saw them on a black and white TV in Gibraltar in 1973

It was the League cup final and I hadn't got a clue what was going on. My dad was upset that Spurs won (being a Norwich boy) and I became hooked. There was no football in Gibraltar for a 6 year old to watch, apart from us kids outside the flats where we lived. You have to realise that TV in Gibraltar in those days was a bit of a rarity and only broadcast properly at the weekends when you might get a bit of bullfighting. And we weren't very good.

Two years later the same thing happened, except to Villa. Shortly afterwards we came back to Norwich and my dad took me to watch us a few times in the 1975/76 season when, amongst other games, I (and 30,000 others) got to see us deny QPR the league.

That's what started me off.
