It seems that the belief is that because he's been so good at this level

he is now a brilliant player and no way will he go back to being the cumbersome cuddler when he moves back to Championship Level.

Whereas I tend to think that what we saw this year was the quality elements of the Doc, which were there in higher divisions, but this season weren't spoilt by the last minute panics that have always caused disaster in previous years. However I think this as far more to do with having slower players at this level, rather than some sort of miraculous improvement. And as I posted the other day, I think a few slips were creeping in again as the season drew to its end.

I'm also quite disappointed that Nelson seems to have been written off already by the same people who have decided that Doc shouldn't have been written off. So Doc can have a good season and therefore is due another one, but despite the fact that in the latter stages I felt that Nelson was the stronger of the two, and even allowing for that being a single opinion, we should write Nelson off even though we've no idea what he can do one level up. I'm not saying he'll be a great success or otherwise, but the double standards infuriates me.
