I don't think the BBC "brags" about it's impartiality, really.

They do claim impartiality, yes, but then they have a legal obligation to be impartial - if they aren't they get slapped.

I hear very often from the more right-wing oriented sections of the media - actually, to be fair, more from commentators, Have Your Say-ists, who are invited to give their opinion on matters - that the BBC shows bias, but I never really see it myself. And I don't hear about them being sanctioned for showing bias - which surely they would be if it were so clear and present.
