When are we going to get round to using technology in elections?
Barcode on your polling card.
Scan it in the booth, touch screen to register your vote, job done.
Instant results, oooh could even show you running total as you go in and on the news and that.
Imagine being sat at home at 9:30 thinking "bollocks, so and so are winning, I better get out and use my vote then".
(would probably have to wait a while to start showing the total though. You know, first person votes and a f**k off big Plasma shows Labour 1 Tory 0 Lib Dem 0 etc etc kind destroys the whole secret ballot thing).
