You say "I doubt our wage bill will rise that much" meanwhile McTheKNife says "I can guarantee you that we will quickly spend that money (the ?3-4 million extra) on new contracts and new players".

Who to believe... Hmm.

This calculated gamble is, presumably, the same one we took last season, and the season before, and the two seasons we had the parachute money.

So the gamble pays off one year in five, and in the other 4 years you run up crippling losses. Is that really sensible?

And remember, the last time we got to the Prem we paid off, at most, ?1 million of debt. Even taking into account the capital expenditure that won't be required this time around (South stand, infills, press box etc) even if we pay off ?5 million per season that is FIVE years in the top flight before the debt is gone.
