Hmm, I think it is the commenwealth aspect that gives her the case.

As they've blocked her sisters entry, the state has knackered her planned child care plans has it not?
difficult to therefore see what else she could have done.

Lots of people use family as childcare, tricky to do that when your family is abroad.
It appears they accepted her into the army as a single mother, so perhaps they could have done more.

I don't think its that far off being right to be honest, especially as they've thrown out the loss of earnings part.

As McD says, more factage is probably required such as what child care options were there?
