gotta love the people leaving comments who think they know hockey rules
"One major difference in the rules of Hockey is that the ball can not be played above head hight, making it harder for a player to pass the ball past the final defenders to any waiting attackers. "
umm no, you can play the ball above head height actually
"There is a massive difference between the two sports when it comes to goal keeping. There's no way in hell that a hockey forward is going to loiter around the goald knowing that a hockey ball could be hurtling towards the goal at any time"
umm actually yes they do... to get deflected goals and put the goalie off
Hockey IMHO has become a much faster, exciting game to play as a result of the no offside rule. People always assume that players will just goal hang if there is no offside, but this is not the case as they then effectively leave their team with less players since they are hiding behind defenders. And in football, lumping the ball into the box will not be as successful as people think since the goalie can catch the ball above a players head.
