We haven't played well since we won 5-0 at Colchester
and have been getting away with it largely. I think this game was the evidence Lambert needed to justify a change for Tuesday.
I doubt he'll leave Holt out. It's a tricky one, because the side that started today should still be good enough to beat Southend, and it still should if Rusty is out for Hughes or McNamee.
If I was going to change it I'd go:
Forster
Martin
Doc
Askou
Rose
McNamee
Smith
Hughes
Hoolahan
Holt
Martin
I'd play 4-4-2, but with Hoolahan only nominally on the left and free to drift about, in the hope (and expectation) that Southend haven't got a s**t hot right winger.
