I missed the beginning of the interview, so I lacked context etc, and it sounded to me, although I now know it wasn't, that they'd got an actor to do his words, in a kind of a protecting-his-identity thing.

About seven-eighths hatstand, I reckon. Brave thing to do - admit to it, I mean - but then "brave" is often used as a euphemism for "stupid".
