here's what you need to check.....

Check your current settings for importing a CD - in the iTunes navigation bar, select "Edit" then "Preferences." Click the "Advanced" tab and then the "Importing" tab.

You can switch to importing tracks as AIFF format for really high quality - though if it is on MP3 it 'should' be ok.

Have a tinker with the rest of the settings in there - not got itunes in front of me so doing this from memory.
