But - you shouldn't confuse concentration camps with death camps
which people do sometimes.
The Boer War concentation camps - and the early Nazi ones - were deeply unpleasant holding places for people you wanted off the streets, without them having committed any crimes.
But neither of them were industrially-organised killing machines. That came later in WW2, with Auschwitz etc. Something very different.
