Shame On Me Then...

I wouldn't say I was thick or worldly wise at all-and certainly not of a "Daily Mail" persuasion-but I really had no idea at all.
I certainly had knowledge that the British had a dark history, as much as-or maybe more than-others, but had never studied, or
read, about the Boer War at all (but know the bloody Treaty Of Versailles backwards!), so was intrigued to hear about the kicking they gave us, and appalled at our treatment of them.

So ashamed to be shocked at it really. Does it implicate me or how we are taught and made aware of our history in general-or that we only "retain" what we want to retain?
