but if we're very very truthful, he wasn't terribly good was he? Not cack but not brilliant.
I think over the last two seasons our players have fallen into three categories:
not very good but tries hard and seems to care
not very good and doesn't try very hard
not too bad but not great either

No idea how this season's crop will pan out but they all seem to try and care. If they also have a soupcon of ability (I refer you to the Norfolk Makalele) then that's what's making me feel optimistic. And that's perhaps why relegation will turn out to have been the best thing for us. The talent can be nurtured in a 'winning' environment, rather than a downhearted one.
