Basically my dad is about to be made redundant due to the up coming cigarette vending machine ban which a new bill is due to come into affect.

I know my dad will entitled for redundancy pay but his boss wants to know if he the employer will have to pay the redundancy to his employees or will the government pay the redundancies?

seems unfair that an employer has to pay redundancy as a result of a law change and not a downturn in business.
