consumer behaviour is just a big broad topic.

In marketing planning you tend to split into raising awareness and raising sales. Changing customer perception is often the aim of a rebrand- to take up songwriter's point - but rebranding is the route not the definition.

I would create a new definition like 'emotional brand perception'.
