No, Dave, that's just the way the manufacturers first started packaging it. When a better packaging comes along, they can swop.

"Just like wine has to be in glass bottles" - a perfect examples. Before glass bottles, wine was stored in a variety of receptacles, principally animal skins and terracotta. I can just imagine Dave in Pompeii muttering "bloody new-fangled glass, wine was intended to be drunk straight from the clay amphora"
