Speaking of picture quality
We were sold Digital TV on many bases, one of which was that picture quality would be much improved. Well, in many cases it's proved to be at least equivalent to analogue, and I look forward to receiving HD soonish.
However, I rather think that in at least an equal number of instances picture quality has worsened. When City came on last night I immediately took up my usual pozzy close to the telly but had to back away quickly as the pixellation was so bad: not much better than when you briefly switch youtube to full screen before realising it's (often) a bad idea.
I remember ITV's coverage of some Final or another at the end of last season: there was a shower of graffiti and ticker tape and the TV couldn't cope with it. Mine couldn't, anyway.
So the picture quality thing was bulls**t, then. What we HAVE gained is countless channels packed with utter s**te.
Oh, OK and a couple of good 'uns too. I suppose what I'm saying is Hmmmm.
