someone who ran the marathon last year in our village

organised a, for want of a better word, 'social night'. People happy to go, stump up not that much in return for an evening out and good warm feeling. Throw in a raffle as well and you're probably going to get reasonably close to a target (cost of hall hire, get a mate to do a disco, local band willing to play for nothing...)
