Indeed, i'd love to see him score a couple. He's important to the team though.

Allows Rooney a lot of freedom, which he seems to be enjoying.
Which has also helped Gerrard.
Which has also then helped Lampard.
Which has also then helped Barry.................

Feel for Defoe, but for me Rooney is the man ahead of him more than Heskey.
Plus Defoe is a bloody useful option off the bench.
Changes the game a bit, gives them a new problem to deal with when he replaces heskey.
CB has had 60/70 minutes of battling with Heskey, then has to put up with Defoe running in behind.
Works well.
