Simple truth is if the goalie doesn't make contact with the ball they are party to the same laws as an outfield player sliding in and not winning a tackle...

If I was going to argue the case for it not being a penalty...I'd go for the 'he was heading away from goal at an impossible angle and didn't have control of the ball' approach.

But then what do I know? You're all far cleverererest
