that's the real problem these days

fans get to put too much pressure on managers.

In the 'old days' the fans turned up for a game and then after it uyou didn't hear from them until the next one. Now, with phone ins and internet, they spend all the time in between going on and on and blowing teh importance of a single game out of all proportion (with some exceptions, like Fulham, which ARE that important). A bad game does not make someone a sh*t player - all players, even the best, have them - but if loads of loud people spend a week in the media etc saying 'Player X is sh*t' over and over again it can create a general impression that this is actually true. Which isn't very helpful.
