In response to a couple of degree-related posts below

If I'd applied for a Masters in things like History, English etc I would not have got on one with a 2:2.

Going to University and getting a 2:2 isn't a "waste of time". There is a lot more to University than getting a degree and a lot of the extra things I did contributed to me getting a place on the Masters course I want to do. I'd hardly consider my time at York (yes, I went to a good University and didn't do a mickey mouse degree like Media Studies) a waste of time.

If anyone is wondering what kind of Masters it is, I am doing Broadcast Journalism. How did I get on it? The strength of my CV: work experience, lots of volunteering, editing University newspapers, conducting interviews with sporting personalities etc. Being at University provided me with an excellent opportunity to do a lot of that as well.
