The Japanese original or the Yankee cover?
The Asian one is, I think, the better but the USA one has this astonishing sequence with a horse. Dunno how they filmed that.
I say 'I think it's better' but it's hard for me to tell because Begs For Death Kermode did his best to spoil it for me by telling me what I was about to see before I saw it. I couldn't hit the mute button as I was in someone else's house so instead I let everyone know exactly how I feel about Smartarses who have to spoil things for everyone just to demonstrate how sodding clever and insightful they are.
Anyway, the Ring: it was the one-legged vicar what done it. It's a homage to early Fonckelhubertz. Nobody but me is bright enough to have worked this out. Sodding Kermode.
