'Looking for Eric' - my review
saw it last night here in France.
it was the french version, so i missed a bit here and there, but it was an excellent film (very Ken Loach if you know what I mean) but had a very different feel to it.
Plot is believable and Cantona was very 'funny' in a Cantona kind of way. Great supporting cast including a couple of faces I recognised.
Its a positive film I felt better after watching it, the end scene is hilarious.
Cantona come down after the film for a Q&A, 10 minute ovation, he was made up. After a few questions he escaped out the back door and I left with the riff raff.
on the way out a french journo heard me chatting to the missus and pulled me to one side for a chat. I got a big paragraph in the regional rag today!
Go see it, its really funny on a lot of levels, and its about a group of football fans, which is always good.
