Ordinary people are represented on all sorts of management boards

Trade Unions in Europe sit on works councils yet I suspect there is a variety of views amongst the membership. Likewise many public sector trade unions sit on joint management/union committees. NHS Trusts have patient representatives on the Board. It happens all over in the name of democracy.
At least 40 football clubs have a fans representative on the Board or in some cases eg Exeter and Brentford amongst others are run by their Supporters Trusts.
