Lad at university who lived in the attic of a house of a mate of mine had a seriously unhealthy Warcraft obsession. 12 hours a day would be a really good day, it was more likely 18-20 hours a day, and then he slept in his chair in front of the computer. Ended up dropping out of his course in the second year. Word was, although I've no idea if it's true or not, that his parents were filthy rich, so he wasn't really bothered about monking up his education.

I've known people come out the other side of serious class a drug use in better shape than that chap, no exaggeration.
