I've never claimed anything dodgy either.

Two reasons:

#1: I am, like everyone else here, petrified, absolutely petrified of the lady who examines our claims. She has a gallows in her garden, and cold flat dead eyes. She "lives" in Eyam, y'know, the village in the Peaks famous for the Black Death? I'm pretty sure she's an actual survivor of the 13th century plague.
