When Grant was appointed. My reaction on hearing the news, incidentally, was to utter a succint "oh, for f**k's sake!", but I tried to be cheerful and work with it as far as I could. Otherwise you're just accused of being a Selwyn and spinning the same old record over and over again.

It was the same with Roeder: I'm sure everyone remembers my response. It's gone down in Wrath legend! (well, sort of...) But you can't have it both ways. Fans opposed to various managers right from the outset are castigated as doom mongers; fans who are positive or supportive are then commenting "in hindsight" when it goes wrong. But it's the board job to get it right, and they've failed - over and over again.
