It's the "Not me Guv" mentality
nothing is ever the board's fault (although curiously the current board blame Chase for what happened on his watch). The very bestest example was when, after being told many times what a good negotiator Doncaster is, someone had the temerity to ask Donny who negotiated the Earnshaw and Etuhu contracts. Curiously the word "me" was missing from his answer.
There seems to be a lack of accountabilty all over. The last player to emerge from the Academy and make a sustained impact on the first team debuted 6 years ago. I wonder if anyone on the board has asked Ricky Martin why that might be?
